Why Mental Health Matters After Divorce

Divorce can have profound emotional, psychological, and financial impacts, often leaving individuals struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and social stigma. At XOcare, we recognize the urgent need for mental health support to help single mothers and fathers rebuild their lives.

Our Focus Areas

Community Awareness & Behavior Change Campaigns

We plan to conduct anti-drug and sexual health education campaigns for 300+ young girls and boys from single-parented families.

Community Awareness Campaign

Mental Health & Trauma Healing

We will hold 4 community counseling & peer-healing sessions (Mvura Nkuvure) targeting 50+ GBV survivors (teen mothers, divorced individuals) providing counseling and health facilities.

Free STDs testing, link to medical services and other contraceptive facilities.

Community Awareness Campaign

Mental Health Support & Capacity Building

Co-develop trauma-informed counseling workshops for single parents & youth.

SRHR & Youth Education

Joint campaigns in schools & communities on reproductive health & gender equality, providing necessary learnings and preventive equipment.

Community Health Outreach

Leverage expertise in community mobilization and liaise with our communities of single mothers and children who need health counselling and support.

Tangible Outcomes Expected

Improved Mental Health Access

200+ individuals receive support to cope with mental issues like stress, depression, PTSD, and others which are the main cause of increasing suicidal attempts and excessive use of drugs and alcohol.

Youth Empowerment

300+ youth educated on reproductive health & life skills, enhancing their informed decision towards sexual intercourse hence minimizing issues of teenage and unwanted pregnancies.

Stronger Advocacy

Our joint efforts will play a huge role in influencing policy on SRHR & mental health, as well as improved ability to raise funds together for this noble cause.
